Poor quality & service from all departments
Good day to everyone reading this.
We would like to make everyone aware of the experience we have had so far with our Hyundai to hopefully help others avoid the same disappointments we have had so far.
The story begins at Motus Hyundai Pinetown, where we were interested in a brand new Hyundai i20. We spoke to the sales staff there & explained that we have already had an awful experience with a previous dealership & a different brand new vehicle that had to be returned & we were hoping for a new car to have ease of mind - warranty, service plan & the stress-free life that should come with owning a brand new vehicle. This was not the case.
Immediately there was pressure to buy a vehicle there & then - we had not yet decided on what to buy due to our previous experience & wanted to take time to decide. After agreeing to a purchase & a price, they then called numerous times to sign paperwork without even calling the bank to negotiate interest rates after telling us that they had - if we had not examined the paperwork before signing & gone purely on trust we would not have even seen that there was no change at all.
After then agreeing on an interest rate & signing the paperwork, we were then promised the first installment would start the following month & the payment for our previous vehicle would be removed. The installment for our previous vehicle was still taken, & we had to constantly call & request the refund, which we did not even receive the full amount of to this day.
The next issue was the condition of the vehicle we received - a brand new vehicle - had already 3 scratches on it that were immediately brought to the dealerships attention & we were promised that it would be taken care of. It has not been done. The following issue was the anti-smash & grab that we had paid for - it had been done very poorly & all of the windows had bubbles. This was redone 4 separate times & there are still dry spots in the tinting. We were also given the books of the vehicle without all of the information written inside & promised features in the vehicle that were not included. We were told the vehicle was a “full package” before taking delivery of the vehicle.
The following thing we noticed was that the steering had a knocking noise. We brought this to their attention & were told there is nothing wrong with the vehicle, it was normal. There was no booking made to check this issue.
The last & main issue would be the problem we started to have with the clutch on the vehicle. The vehicle would not start, so it was towed to the dealership & we were informed that the clutch sensor had come loose. We were then blamed for knocking the clutch sensor loose ourselves - the sensor is located underneath the dashboard high up on the clutch & other obstructions are in the way. There would be no way for someone to put their foot up in that space to kick it off. The dealership has maintained that this is our fault & not the vehicles & has refused to take further action. They have “fixed” our vehicle with a cable tie. When we contacted customer care regarding this, the dealership informed them that they did not use a cable tie when we have photographic evidence that they did. So they have **** about their repair to us & customer care to protect themselves. Customer care has since been no help. This has been an extreme insult to us as a customer.
In short, when buying a Hyundai, do not expect any form of quality from the product or any form of assistance from the dealerships or their customer care.
