Give me back my money Motown Appliances!

A while ago I sent my Speed Queen washing machine for mainly a gasket set repair to Motown Appliances.

This was apparently a normal age related replacement and not due to a breakdown, according to André, the owner. He also said, after the repair was made, that he serviced the machine, but that the machine was anyway looking very very good. I think we paid R1300.

When we got the machine back, it was jumping around a little and making a squeeze-sound. I called André, and he told me it was normal. I called again a week or so later, as I became more and more unhappy and worried about the vibrating and the sound. Andrè came to listen and told me it was normal.

About 2 weeks ago, the machine suddenmly startesd to jump around heavily. I first thought my domestic worker did something wrong but I established that nothing would stop the machine jumping. It was so serious that the outside cover's *****s jumped loose and the whole outside cover was askew.

I called Motown again, André came out, fastened the cover and told me that the machine was jumping around because it was standing on a tiled floor. I found this difficult to believe as we put the machine down on bigger pueces of rubber beneat the feet.

Anyhow, we added even bigger pieces of rubber. It was not working and the machine is unusable at this stage. Not even laying upon the machine stops the serious jumping around, accompanied by a burning smell.

Motown promised to fetch the machine for days on end, without doing so. Calls, messages and sms' are ignored. I asked for my money back to send the machine somewhere else, still I am ignored.

I am sorry to say that for decades this business has been notorious for bad service, but because they are the only place in Sasolburg of this kind, they have us all by the *****, becoming arrogant and without regard to customers.

I am in desperate need of this machine!
