Terrible, ridiculous service!

By far the worst experience I've had with a motor plan provider!

My car had engine issues and I put in a claim, at first they flat out rejected the claim saying that I was not consistent with my services. Which is BS as I have made sure the car gets serviced, sometimes even before it's time.

Only after submitting service invoices as proof that my car was and has been regularly services did they approve the claim. Thereafter, they refused to use my repairer stating the quote was too high.

They told me that the car will be towed and sent to their "preferred" repairer, all the way in Gezina Pretoria! Mind you, I live in Fourways. After fighting with them about this, I eventually just concluded that if they can provide a 12 month warranty on the repairer's work then they can go ahead.

My car was towed to this other repairer and after 2 days, I had not received any feedback. SO I called the repairer, only to find that they haven't even started with my car because they "dont know what the problem is". I'm puzzled, in the first place when Motorvaps said my repairer was expensive, how did they know their repairer was cheaper if the repairer doesn't even know what the problem is with the car?

I'm very certain that this is Motorvaps way of trying to skimp on quality parts so they do not have to pay out much. After a few weeks my car will break down again.

Also, if I did not call these guys, weeks were going to go by without my car getting fixed. No one bothered to call me or my repairer that actually did a diagnosis on the car, to find out what the issue was with the car.

I emailed Motorvaps (this things of not being able to speak to the claims department is also ridiculous) about the whole issue. I simply got a reply that says "we've asked Koops for feedback", nothing else. No possible remedy, no plan of action, nothing!

These guys are ridiculous! I wouldn't suggest anyone to get a motor warranty with these guys! When buying a vehicle, check with which company the dealership works with - if it's Motorvaps, run!
