Useless Maintenance Plan
I have a Maintenance Plan with Motorite Administrators. In June 2015, I had car issues and I took it to Honda Centurion for diagnosis and repairs. I was told it has clutch issues and a claim was submitted to Motorite Administrators on my behalf as I have a Maintenance Plan with them. To my horror, they declined my claims and said the clutch issues are NOT due to normal wear and tear but bad driving habits on my side. How bad can my driving be? I drove this car for 7 months. I have over 7 years of driving experience and have never had clutch issues triggered by bad driving habits. I tried to call their claims department just to get the full details. The consultant that I spoke to was rude and impatient. I requested him to send me the rejection letter. The rejection letter is referring me to a clause in the policy document that I do not have. I have requested them to send me the policy document. I still have not received them. What is the point of having a policy that does not pay in time of need?
Dear Madam,
Motorite has reviewed your complaint and noted your comments. It should be noted that your vehicles kilometre reading at point of claim was 19 527 km - furthermore the vehicle was less than 2 years old. The report and visuals provided to us by your preferred repairer revealed that the clutch plate linings were completely burnt off which is indicative of a particular driving style. A failure of this nature was deemed to be normal and, or fair wear and tear - it was for this reason that your claim was rejected. Our records indicate that the relevant contract wording was sent to you on more than 1 occasion. In view of the matter Motorite remains of the opinion that your claim was administered correctly in line with the maintenance contract terms and conditions.
