This is where a agent's error become Motorite's deliberate intent
<div>We.081359BOct.25 When I took out the service plan for my Ford Ranger in December 2024, the Motorite agent I spoke to on the phone told me the service intervals are 15,000 Km. You have it on record, Motorite. You sent me that recording. The Ranger had it's most recent service at 171,866 Km, at Zelco motors, the dealer and service station where I bought it. I confirmed on 24 July 2025, over the phone with another Motorite agent, that the next service was at 185,000 Km. She said the number, not merely imp****. You have that on record also, Motorite, why are you struggling to find that recording after I requested you to find it five times? When I took the vehicle to Upington Service Center for the 185,000 km service, as advised by Motorite's own agents, Motorite suddenly realised the service intervals are 20,000 km and it should be at 190,000 Km; therefore they refused to pay for the service. I did not have the money to pay for a service. But the oil was already drained by the time Motorite's rejection of the claim reached USC, and I had to pay for the oil out of my rent money I had to pay the next week. Motorite requested my proof of payment, which I sent, and rejected my request for reimbur*****t on their grounds that it was merely an oil change, not a complete service which includes changing of filters. It would have been a complete service, had Motorite given me the correct service intervals. On 08 October 2025, I went to Upington Service Center at 190,226Km, 20,000 Km after the previous service as Motorite demanded, to request a date for a service. When USC contacted Motorite, they received the message that there is no 190,000 service interval, it should be 195,000 Km. Interesting, as there would have been no 195,000 Km interval either, had the prvious owners stuck to the 20,000 Km schedule as Motorite claims it should be, nor would there have been a 190,000 or 185,000 Km interval. From their 'letter concerning (our) final position", dated 25/09/2025: "Firstly, regarding the disputed claim, the rejection was app**** correctly as the vehicle had only travelled 14,032km at the time of submission. Based on the VIN number, the manufacturer’s service interval for this model is every 20,000km or 12 months, and the service was therefore not yet due. Additionally, confirmation was received from the dealership that the service performed was an oil top-up only, and not a full service including an oil filter replacement. As per policy, we are only able to assist with a refund where full service has been completed. We do, however, acknowledge that the customer service agent incorrectly advised you that services are due every 15,000km. We sincerely apologise for this incorrect information and any inconvenience it may have caused." Which is it, Motorite? 15,000 Km, 20,000 Km or 25,000 Km intervals? Is it 185,000 Km, 190,000 0r 195,000 km service? What is your game, do you stand to gain from letting me miss the required service? Except for the roughly R20,000 Wesbank already gave you for the service plan?</div>
