Stay away from Motorite and have peace of mind

Firstly, I'd like to say do not take up a vehicle warranty with this company as you have just signed up for additional headache. The company seems to be looking for any reason they can so they do not to pay for your claim. After that, there is the poor customer service, everyday you get a new consultant and everyday you have to re-explain your claim. The consultants dont communicate between themselves about your claim nor do they assist you to finalise your claim and will tell you that they are not allowed to dial out to follow up. You will eventually get tired of talking to the following consultants Nadine, Daniel, Shaun, Vuyisile as nothing ever gets done nor processed. You must run after them. I have made over 20 calls between these consultants and my claim has gotten me anywhere. I lodged my claim about 3 weeks ago and counting and this still has to go to payment which is still gonna take anything from 5 to 10 days they say. This is only for a R2000 claim.

Dear Madam,

Motorite has reviewed your complaint and duly noted your comments – we wish to address your complaint as follows:

The product that forms the basis of this complaint is a WesBank Prestige mechanical breakdown warranty underwritten by Infiniti Insurance Limited of which Motorite Administrators (Pty) Ltd. act as the appointed claims administrator. The policy provides cover for the failure of specified mechanical and electrical components subject to the policy terms and conditions being adhered to whereby the applicable limits of liability apply. The policy incepted on the 29/01/2017 at 112 000 km and runs for a period of 2 years.

The claim in contention was logged with Motorite on the 30/05/2018 at 181 625 km by MM Automotives (PTY) LTD. The repairer reported that the vehicles wheel bearings, torsion links and front discs and pads required replacing. The normal claims procedure was followed whereby we requested the vehicles service record, written failure report and quotation.

In line with the agreed policy terms and conditions, we require all information detailing the causes of failure and the reported failure has to be reviewed as these determine the overall outcome of the claim. To the very beginning of the said claim, the repairer was adequately advised of what was required to afford us enough leverage to assess the claim accordingly.

Unfortunately the service record, written failure report and quotation was only received from the repairer on the 05/06/2018 for applicable administration thereof and authorisation app**** the same day. As per the authorisation letter issued – the invoicing requirements are attached in order for an invoice to be processed for payment.

Your policy wording refers:

25. Procedure If the Vehicle Breaks Down

If the vehicle breaks down, the following procedure must be followed:

(e) Once your breakdown is identified as a claim under this policy, the claims department will issue an order number to the Administrator Approved or Manufacturer Approved Dealership. This order number will be for an amount covering the repair, subject to the maximum amount, as stated under the stated benefits in the Limits of Liability Table;

(f) After the repair work is complete, the Administrator Approved or Manufacturer Approved Dealership must immediately send an itemised invoice, quoting the order number, to the claims department;

(g) The claims department will pay the approved amount to the Administrator Approved or Manufacturer Approved Dealership;

Therefore we are of the opinion that Motorite has filfulled their obligation with regards to the administration of the claim in contention.

Thank you for co-operation and patience herein.

Kind Regards,

Risk Management Complaints Division

As mentioned. Your poor customer service, failure to assist that the claim be processed efficiently with feedback and follow up. This has been an unpleasant experience . Its really unfortunate that was claim has not been handled as swiftly and efficiently as your response. I would have very much appreciated it. I will come back to your response once this claim has been executed and paid for. Thank you.

Dear Madam,

The claim has been executed as per the claim documentation received for applicable processing thereof. Unfortunately we cannot process payment until a valid tax invoice has been submitted by your preferred repairer - who has been duly advised of the invoicing requirements upon authorisation.

Regrettably we cannot be held responsible for the delay from the repairers side.

Kind Regards,
