Shocking Service and stressful experience

I have had endless problems with the service received from Motorite

I took my vehicle in for its 75000 km service on the 9th May 2016. I mentioned to the service advisor that the brakes were making a noise and the suspension felt spongy and that those too needed to be looked at.

The dealer advised the front shocks needed replacing, left and right side.

I informed them that I had cover (Full maintenance till 120 000 km ) through motorite. Motorite then only advised they will authorise to replace the right hand shock only. Which is not safe practise.

I had to force the dealership to not accept that from motorite – subsequently a full shock test was done under the recommendation of Mark Mostert at the dealership.

Surprise, surprise all shocks failed except the front right shock which has been replaced.

The vehicle was kept until the 13th May at which point Mariksa the service advisor said I will need to book the vehicle back in for having the remaining 3 shocks replaced but not to book yet until she has made arrangements for the replacement parts and motorite approval.

Car was taken back again during June - once again the vehicle was kept for 4 days only to be told again that the remaining shocks except the front left will be replaced.

So at the moment I am driving an uproadworthy vehicle due to a motorite claim rejection on a maintenance plan.

Advise to reader: Do not waste your time with motorite - they will reject claims before considering the safety of the customer.

See attached for proof of rejected claim and proof of shock failure test.

I was then advised on the 31st May I had to bring the vehicle in at my earliest convenience – D (D for disaster) day was Monday this week 6th June.

On returning the vehicle I pointed out that several issues had been missed during the last service. Less than a month prior.

· Faulty Number plate bulb

· Faulty right hand front side bulb

· Front brakes were still shuddering on braking

· Remote key battery low indicator was on

· Who knows what else was not done - no level of confidence on this dealerships Quality checks.

Revised shock test report is also attached. Motorite have only now authorised

It is now end of day Wednesday 8th June and my vehicle is still not ready. At 15:30 today I received an email from bevj@cmh informing me that the car should be ready by 16:30

At 16:14 I get a call from the dealership (Mariska) indicating that they still need to fit the shocks. *** – 3 days later.

Clearly no-one had actually bothered to order parts from the last time my vehicle was there…stupidity or just ****e customer service.

Clearly the dealership doesn’t care about inconveniencing their customers so I am asking for assistance from Mitsubishi in absolute desperation.

FYI: Motorite are worse that you lot but I guess that is expected. I have given the service advisors contact details below should you be willing to assist or offer some advise.

Dear Sir,

Motorite has reviewed your complaint and we wish to advise as follows:

The claim in contention was logged with Motorite on the 06/06/2016 at 76 898 km by CMH Volvo West Rand. The repairer reported a problem with the following on your vehicle that required replacement:

Front brake disc skimming - authorised

Left front park light globe- authorised

Number plate globe- authorised

Wheel alignment- authorised

Left and right rear shocks – authorised

Right front shock - rejected

Please note that your vehicles left front is basically brand new, the left front shock was replaced 1 988 km ago.

As per shock test supp**** by dealer, the left front shock tested at 52 % effectiveness and the right front shock at 61 %, the test confirms that there is no reason to replace the right front shock.

Motorite therefore remains of the opinion that the claim was administered correctly and in line with the terms and conditions.

Regards,

Motorite Administrators (Pty) Ltd
