Dear Sir,

Motorite has reviewed your complaint, we wish to respond as follows:

Your preferred repairer reported that your vehicles Engine light was on, on inspection they had found both top cam gears teeth st********** causing cam timing to be totally out and lack of compression.

The normal claims procedure was followed whereby we requested the vehicles failure report, quote, last two services for the vehicle And The Diagnostics test report.

Upon receiving the requested information – Motorite proceeded to appoint an independent assessor to go out an inspect the vehicle to confirm the cause of failure and the extent of the damage.

Based on what was assessed it was confirmed that your vehicles cam gear teeth are worn as the exhaust cam shaft gear are worn sharp and the intake cam gear are worn.

In this instance Motorite proceeded to authorize the amount of R 10 000.00 including VAT. Please note that as per the policy terms and conditions this is the maximum amount allowed under the Engine benefit as per the limits of liability.

Motorite remains of the opinion that the claim was administered correctly and in line with the policy terms and conditions.

Regards,

Motorite Administrators (Pty) Ltd

Dear Sir,

Please note that in this instance Motorite have duly authorized the maximum amount allowed for your vehicles Engine as per the policy terms and conditions limits of liability, that being R10 000.00. You are welcome to source a cheaper quote in order to combat the difference in cost of repairs, however please note that in that instance you would be liable to pay the current repairer for the strip and quote.

Motorite remains of the opinion that the claim was administered correctly and in line with the policy terms and conditions.

I cannot be held liable to pay for striping on the vehicle because I didn't request for the dealer to strip the vehicle
