Only pay to repair whats not broken
In December 2014 my VW Polo 1.6tdi (130000km) started making a noise in the engine.I took the car to E-Car in Sasolburg who claimed that the noise is caused by faulty injectors(did not provide me with a printout of the diagnostic test).Quote to replace the injectors = R54000.00!!! The claim was approved for R6000.00 leaving me wondering why I even wasted my time and money buying an extended warranty from Motorite.I took the car to another place to do another diagnostic test on it and just as expected they could not find any fault on the injectors.I called Motorite to inform them that there is nothing wrong with the injectors and that I will be taking the car to a Bosch service station to which they responded its fine, they will cancel the first claim and Bosch can submit a new claim.Bosch removed the injectors, tested them and could not find any fault with the injectors.The noise in the engine was caused by warn bearings. Bosch submitted a claim to Motorite and that was rejected because the non faulty injectors was not replaced. So to be clear I have to replace injectors which is not faulty costing me R48000.00 or you will not approve the claim to repair what is actually broken???

The current failure as reported on by your preferred repairer is the same symptom displayed at point of your previous claim for the vehicles injectors, that being a knocking noise from the engine. It has been confirmed that this repair was never completed by yourself as the vehicle was taken away. Our records indicate that you have continued to drive the vehicle for an additional 5 900 km with a known fault which has now resulted in further damage. The policy is clear on the fact that the you must immediately stop using the vehicle if the vehicle breaks down or if a breakdown is imminent. It has also been noted that part of the current repair has been completed without our authorization therefore denying us the opportunity to fully assess our liability. Motorite has therefore rejected your claim based on these transgressions.
