Mr

I am driving a polo 1.6, when I took the warranty for the engine my car was fine and it was at 132000 km, and I drove 320 km after the warranty was activated and the car gives me problems, and now the engine room warranty says it's highly impossible for that to happen, so I need a halp because they have rejected my claim.

Dear Sir,

Motorite has reviewed your complaint and noted your comments – we wish to respond as follows:

The policy incepted on the 09/03/2016 at 132 000 km and runs for a period of 2 years.

The claim in contention was logged with Motorite on the 06/06/2016 at 132 323 km by GNH Auto Repairs CC. The repairer reported that your engine was misfiring, there was no compression and that your vehicles engine required to be repaired. The normal claims procedure was followed whereby we requested the vehicles service record, written failure report and quotation.

Upon receiving the requested information – Motorite proceeded to appoint an independent assessor to go out an inspect the vehicle to confirm the cause of failure and confirm the extent of the damage.

This vehicle drove only 323 km and 89 days since the inception of this policy, based on the amount of wear on the vehicle this is considered to be pre-existing failure.

The severity of this failure indicates that inherent flaws were present at the time of purchasing this policy that failed shortly after the policy inception. This is referred to as a pre-existing condition and is excluded from the cover provided by this policy. Kindly note that the applicable rejection notification letter will be issued to you shortly detailing the reasons for rejection, your rights of recourse will also be presented on this document should you be unsatisfied with the outcome of the claim.

Motorite remains of the opinion that the claim was administered correctly and in line with the policy terms and conditions.

Regards,

Motorite Administrators (Pty) Ltd

It is not true my car was fine and ok before I took the police and I am not driving my car often, I did experience the problem when the policy was activated.
