Motorite - ******* of note

I had taken out an extended warranty which cost me R8069.17 on the 23/07/2020 for a vehicle that I financed (extended warranty was included in the purchase of the vehicle). Once vehicle was in my possession I noticed that there was a modification done to the vehicle which was not picked up by Dekra inspection or dealer. I therefore contacted Motorite to advise on my findings and to check if the policy will still cover the vehicle. Motorite advised that there will be major limitations. I therefore opted to cancel. Cancelation date 27/08/2020. The cancellation was only processed after numerous phone calls and emails. Once cancellation was finalized the refund amount was of R4737.04. There was a shortfall of R3332.13. I’ve been trying to contact Motorite for the past week to find out why such a high shortfall with the refund. The policy was active for a period of 35 days. I can understand a pro-rata amount being charged but accumulating to 41% of the total cost of the policy. I would have expected that once the refund was done that there would be a cost breakdown supp****, for example pro-rata amount applicable or any other additional chargers.

According to the cancelation document there’s only mention of a pro-rata amount being applicable so I do not understand why there is a 41% shortfall.

This has to be the most ********* and devious company I’ve come across. I would never refer anyone this company. Very unprofessional and unhelpful telephonically, via mail if you don’t follow up you will never receive feedback.
