Motorite's ********* business

I purchased a vehicle from the Audi Northcliff dealership in December 2015, and paid an extra R8000 for comprehensive 2 year Motorite warranty, which I signed an additional one page document for. I never received any policy schedule and assumed it to be a matter of contacting the dealer should mechanical issues occur. By October 2016, I wanted to attempt to claim an issue where the mirror fell off the housing, apparently something quite common with Polos, but rare on BMW after speaking to PG Autoglass. I was forwarded a one page policy details and contacted Motorite which said that mirrors are not covered by them. In February 2017, a component in the vehicle went faulty as well as it was noticed that the manifold was cracked, the repair quote was forwarded to Motorite where they said the quote could not be processed because my policy was not activated due to it never being paid. Apparently the Audi dealer completed my details for a policy, but never paid to activate it. I contacted the dealer and they made payment on 2017-02-07. After Motorite received payment and then looked at my claim, they said they were not processing the claim, as the vehicle was not serviced within 30 days of signing for the policy and the policy is now void.

So there are a few things clear here:

1.) No where was there ever any mention or document given to me about having the vehicle serviced by me within 30 days of signing for the vehicle purchase and it's warranty. This is a BMW Z4 with full service history and never skipped a service, it was told to me by the dealer that it was serviced before delivery to me in Port Elizabeth.

2.) Before the claim process was made, when the policy was paid for, Motorite said the policy is only valid till the end of 2018, although the "2 year warranty" policy was only paid for and activated in the second week of February 2017. This is highly questionable, as the policy was not in effect ever and only activated once the amount was received, which means the start date should only be from date of receipt of payment.

3.) After Motorite received the funds and activated the policy, they were happy to decline my claim and said the policy was void due to the vehicle not being serviced within 30 days.

4.) During my communication with Motorite in October and November 2016 regarding a claim for my mirror, no one mentioned the policy being inactive or void. In fact, Jenavieve Joubert of Motorite, mentioned in her email "We have loaded your policy. Please be advised the side mirrors are not covered" and further in her email it read "Cs: please send client policy documents and conformation letter". I never did receive the confirmation letter.

5.) Motorite happily took my R8000 (via the dealer) without notifying that the vehicle requires ANOTHER service after purchasing. It makes no sense to do a second service within 30 days on a vehicle with full service history. So this essentially means Motorite made R8000 off me in 30 days and I received NO service, NO phonecall, NO email, NO documents or requirements from them.

6.) I reached out to William N. of Motorite requesting information on the matter. I received the "read notification" on the email, but after 2 days of no reply, I am left wondering what type of service delivery is Motorite offering clients.

I would like this situation resolved as soon as possible as the Audi Northcliff dealer is ignoring my requests for assistance as well as Motorite.

*Correction: Motorite told the service centre that looked at my vehicle that the policy was only going to be valid until the end of 2017. That means they took full payment (R8000) for what essentially is a 10 months warranty. If that is the case, I was better off telling the Audi dealership just to pay me the money and I could have paid for the repairs on the vehicle myself.
