Motorite refusing to pay

In April 2014 I purchased a new Opel Astra OPC. I was told by the dealership that I should take a motorite warranty to cover brakes etc... as GM warranty does not cover. I was also told that it was the best warranty and I would have no hassles. After 9 months and 12 000kms to my vehicle, the brakes were making a weird sound. I sent it to GM Sandton and was advised that the brake discs and pads need to be replaced. I informed the dealership that I was covered by motorite. Motorite responded to the dealer stating that they are not going to pay out the claim as they only cover brakes from 40 000kms. I then contact GM SA who took my vehicle in and sent the disks to their engineering department who informed me that the problem was due to normal wear and tear. If it is normal wear and tear on the vehicle, why does the warranty not cover from an earlier mileage. I was not given any call from motorite when I paid in excess of R40 000 for this warranty. I was not given any information etc... aswell. The first letter I received from them was a decline of claim letter. I am absolutely shocked at this incident. They now expect me to pay R34 000 cash to do the necessary replacements.

Hello Chuvy123,

Dear Sir,

Motorite has reviewed your complaint and noted your comments. The product that forms the basis of your complaint is not a warranty but rather a maintenance plan. This maintenance plan provides cover for Maintenance and mechanical repairs needed by the vehicle because of normal wear and tear and mechanical failure. With reference to your recent claim for the replacement of your vehicles front brake pads and brake discs - Our records indicate that your vehicle currently on a kilometre reading of 13 749 km and requires the discs and pads to be replaced. At this low kilometres - this is not considered to be normal wear and tear but rather unfair, abnormal usage. The maintenance plan unfortunately does not provide cover for abnormal, unfair usage. Furthermore this replacement is below industry norms. In view of the matter Motorite remains of the opinion that the claim was administered correctly.
