Motorite is a Ripoff!!!
Let me start by saying that i wish i checked Hellopeter before putting my trust into Motorite. Firstly my motor plan i have taken out in this year May and payed in full (4 months ago). Three weeks ago i had gearbox issues (mechanically) I then call motorite to find out how do i proceed with the warranties as claiming concern, because of it being my firstime claiming . Was told to drop the car off at an RMI approved garage, which was done. After three weeks i had no reply because of Motorite that had to transfer my claim to management. Please note that during this three weeks i have being on and off the phone with Motorite 'customer care' but never got a proper answer Then today after three weeks, I call into Motorite again to hear that my claim has been rejected because the part that needs to be replaced is not oil lubricated and not inside of the gearbox even tho this gearbox linkages is part of the gearbox. Meaning to say your full gearbox is not covered!! This company is a serious ripoff and really really wish i have read about them before hand. I even sent a email to their complaints department but no reply. And I believe there is so much people putting their trust into companies like this, just to have their own peace of mind knowing that they are covered. And now I am sitting with a non-mobile vehicle that has to be towed home because its unable to be driven.
Thanks Motorite
Dear Sir,
Motorite has investigated your complaint and noted your comments and wish to respond as follows:
The product that forms the basis of this complaint is a Blue Chip mechanical breakdown warranty underwritten by Infiniti Insurance Ltd. of which Motorite Administrators (Pty) Ltd. act as the appointed claims administrator. The policy provides cover for the failure of specified mechanical and electrical components subject to the policy terms and conditions being adhered to whereby the applicable limits of liability apply. The policy incepted on the 12/05/2017 at 150 600 km and runs for a period of 2 years.
The claim in contention was logged with Motorite on the 04/10/2017 at 173 482 km by Mace Service Centre – Tokai. The repairer reported that the vehicle came in struggling to select gears and the vehicles transmission required repair. The normal claims procedure was followed whereby we requested the vehicles service record, written failure report and quotation.
Upon receiving the requested information on the 12/10/2017 the repairer advised they had not done a diagnostic plug in however the report was included on the quotation supplied. It was further advised that there is no service record after July 2016.
It must be noted servicing and maintenance of your vehicle in line with the manufacturers specifications is of vital importance, to firstly, keep your plan/ policy valid and secondly to ensure the longevity of the vehicles mechanical components and the reasonable maintenance of the vehicle.
What this means in layman’s terms is that should any component fail as a result of the late service that is lubricated by oil, this would not be covered by your warranty policy.
The merits of the claim was further sent to senior claims management for review and feedback thereof on the 13/10/2017.
Mace Service Centre – Tokai contacted the claims division on the 18/10/2017 advising that the vehicle in contention is not a DSG as originally reported however a manual transmission vehicle and requested replacement of the vehicles gear selector and cable.
Upon receiving this information – Motorite proceeded to reject the claim in contention as the policy does not provide cover for these component as these parts are not listed as a covered parts. The policy wording refers:
EXCLUSIONS
Your Policy does not cover:
1. Any parts not specified under the “Components Covered” section;
Motorite remains of the opinion that the claim was administered correctly and in line with the policy terms and conditions.
