Motorite Ignore their Own Assessors
Oh how I wish I had looked at HelloPeter before buying a Motorite policy. Predictably - like most of the other 300 people who wrote a review - they are refusing to pay out on my vehicle problem. Well - more accurately they are paying 10k for a problem that is costing 61k. Full of excuses and ignoring the report that was written by their own assessor. Not sure why Motorite go through the charade of using an assessor if they disregard the report. A very disappointing experience indeed and an experience I will be sharing with as many people as possible.

As previously advised - the independent assessor appointed does not have mandate over the decision making for claim finalisation. The assessor merely provides information on the primary cause of failure which we use to apply the applicable benefit category in terms of the mechanical breakdown warranty policy.
The description provided for by the assessor as per the failure, would not result in the cylinder head warping. It should be noted that the cylinder head only warps as a result of overheating.
The fact that the cylinder head is warped confirms that the vehicle overheated as the head cannot warp without overheating taking place.
When a vehicle overheats, it puts stress on all of its metal components. The warped head no longer has a proper mating surface in order to maintain a tight seal between itself and the engine block. Because the tight seal is lost, the cylinder head gasket, which is often at the center of the heat eventually goes bad. The bad cylinder head gasket causes the vehicle to continue to overheat and pressure begins to leak. It is pertinent to mention that the overheating benefit is app**** in the event that there is resultant damage caused to the engine by a listed and covered component.
The engine benefit will not apply where the engine has overheated.
It is worthy to note that irrespective of the amount of damage there will be a limited amount that can be assisted with, should the benefit not cover the full amount for the repairs needed then the balance of the costs will be for your own account.
