Motorite are *****s, ***** and should not be trusted at all!!!
I recently bought a 2014 Model fiesta, that has a 5 year maintenance plan from Motorite. I wanted to update the owner details of the motor plan as I have proof of purchase from the previous owner if something goes wrong with the car in the future. They are full of excuses and there customer care line is the worst. They said that there was a service missed on the car I contacted the previous owner and he notified me that the car has been for all its services and They where RMI approved dealership. I have the JOB cards to prove it and I phoned each dealership in PERSON to verify the services and CONFIRMED that it has been done. As a software Engineer that works for a bank I have seen problems like this frequently when online computer systems are out of sync. Motorite I read the reviews on hellopeter and every word is true you guys are a disgrace to human kind to ***** like you guys do!!! I was helped by Meshack Z Nxele he was helpfull but the excuses was out of this world. Saying that sending the car to a RMI dealership is only valid if it was ARRANGED and in this case it wasn't. Can you prove that??? That clause doesnt make sense the car still went for its service by a RMI approved dealership. Now you guys want me to extend my warrenty go fly a kite and as a Software Engineer I will let the world know who you guys truly are!

Dear Sir,
Motorite has reviewed your complaint and duly noted your comments – we wish to address your complaint as follows:
The product that forms the basis of this complaint is a Barloworld Motor Drive 1 (Plan A) Top Up maintenance plan administered by Motorite Administrators (Pty) Ltd. The maintenance plan provides cover for maintenance and mechanical repairs needed by the vehicle because of normal wear and tear and mechanical failure. This plan was sold as a top up on the vehicles built-in manufacturer service plan whereby this plan runs concurrently with the relevant manufacturer parameters, in this instance the maintenance plan incepted on the 31/01/2014 at 0 km and runs for a period of 5 years and up to 90 000 km - the expiry of this plan is dependent on whichever is reached first.
It is important to note that as per the manufacturer’s specifications, the vehicle has a standard service interval of every 20 000 km or 12 months whichever occurs first with the applicable service leeway’s being 2 500 km or 60 days either side of the service parameter reached first, that being time or kilometres. Servicing and maintenance of the vehicle in line with the manufacturers specifications is of vital importance, to firstly, keep the plan valid and secondly to ensure the longevity of the vehicles mechanical components and the reasonable maintenance of the vehicle.
Our records indicate that there was a claim logged on the 15/02/2018 at 71 513 km for the previous owners 80 000 km service. Based on the vehicles current mileage at that point – we established that this service was presented late by 270 days and 16 733 Km over and above the manufacturer approved service leeway.
Even though this was found to be in breach of the plan terms and conditions - Motorite approved the claim for the 80 000 km service however we further terminated the plan with no option for reinstatement.
The contract wording refers:
“Service History - If the vehicle does not have an up-to-date and fully valid service history it does not qualify for this plan. It is your duty as well as the Selling Dealership's duty to verify this before purchasing the plan. If this is not done, the plan will be invalid, and claims against it will be rejected. A copy of service history must be retained, as this may be requested in the event of a claim. It is recommended that a copy of such proof is attached to the proposal form at point-of sale;”
Our records further indicate that a change of ownership was requested on the 03/10/2018. Regrettably Motorite was not present at point of sale and therefore regrettably cannot validate any sales discussions held prior to this point.
Upon receipt of your request our change of ownership represent further advised that unfortunately a change of ownership cannot be processed due to the plan being terminated on the 19/02/2018 due to the vehicle not having an up-to-date service history.
It is with great regret we have to advise that there can be no change of ownership in this instance.
We sincerely apologize for any frustrations and inconvenience that this may have caused in this regard.
Kind Regards,
