Insurance? for what

Vehicle broke while on leave, contacted Motorrite regarding having the repairs done which is covered by a policy under written by Motorrite. They delayed coming back and I settled the full repair of R 38k. Now they rejecting my claim which is limited to R10k because I did not have their approval, what the hell must we have done?.

Be aware before opting for this insurance!!

Hello dennissb,

Dear Sir,

Our records indicate that there were no delays on the part of Motorite. The claim was logged on the 23/12/2014 - the normal claims process was followed. The report received from the repairer refers; \the noise originates from the transfer box and is probably caused by the chain inside the transfer box.....\" The repairer further advised that they had not stripped the transfer box as you were en route to your holiday destination and that they had no time to strip the transfer box as they were not repairing it. Unfortunately we do approve claims based on probabilities - it is normal procedure to establish to exact cause of failure to determine as to whether the claim is covered by the policy. The repairer was duly advised to obtain your permission to strip the unit to establish the cause of failure. On the 29/12/2014 - Motorite carried out a routine follow up with the repairer who advised that you had already paid for the repairs. Motorite therefore rejected your claim as the work was done without authorization denying us the opportunity to assess our liability.
