*****s, *******, ***** and Apalling Service from Motorite Administrators
Motorite has doggey clauses on their warranty policies. I took a Prestige Plus Warranty Policy with Motorite in 2019 when I got my car, they sugar coated me on all that they cover. Fast forward to a month ago, I was called to extend my warranty which I did. Now that my VW DSG gear box is faulty, the Nightmare began. I peruzed through my warranty policy to be certain of what I am covered for, then I called the company to verify orally if my DSG gearbox is covered and yes it is. I call in to make a claim and stories change. On their policy they duplicated on Clause 20 section 2 under Transmission (Manual Vehicles) Transmission - Manual Vehicles All internally lubricated components, ring gear, gearbox casing (only if damaged by a covered component), and related transmission sensors; Transmission - Manual Vehicles All internally lubricated components, ring gear, gearbox casing (only if damaged by a covered component), and related transmission sensors;
"I assume the Clause 20 section 2 (¡¡) meant Transmission Automatic Vehicles"
Instead they duplicated the same section of (¡) with (¡¡) to get away with no Section covering the Automatic transmission.
Further on their Clutch components covered, this is what they cover (Clutch: Clutch plate, clutch fork, pressure plate, slave cylinder, release bearing, flywheel and master cylinder - against mechanical failure only;) and these components are not available or neither are they parts available on the DSG gearbox. Instead the DSG gearbox has 4 clutches in a cylindrical drum with transmission fluid or hy****ic fluid that's controlled by the mechatronics through the Computer box. (HOWEVER, THE GUYS AT MOTORITE MAINTAIN THAT THE CLUTCH KIT IN THE DSG GEARBOX TRANSMISSION CONTAINS A CLUTCH PLATE, PRESSURE PLATE, PRESSURE FORK, RELEASE BEARING AND FLYWHEEL) which none is in the DSG gearbox casing. On their Clause there's no mention of wet/dry clutch and no mention of Automatic transmission, only Manual transmission and still say they cover wet clutch not dry clutch transmission, and if I ask where's the mention of the wet clutch, Quinton says the warranty policy does not seem to open on his computer, I offer to send him the same copy to open on his email, he says his off to a meeting and it's now 11 but no feedback from him yet.
I argued with the claims administrator Siza Masiza handling my case that on their policy, they did not clarify on the Automatic Vehicle Transmission, instead they duplicated the same section on the Clause. His response was it was a mistake. I asked him then if he has a correct copy of the warranty policy and if he can point through for me where they mention Automatic Transmission Vehicles, he said he that we both have the same copy and agrees there's no mention of the Automatic Transmission Vehicles as opposed to the Manual Vehicles, but argues that the clutch is the same on the Automatic and Manual transmission.
Seeing that there's no way out, he then suggest to escalate the issue to his manager Quinton Bower, who also argues the same and says they will employ an independent assessor to VW and assess the vehicle but I asked Quinton to get back to me with a Clause showing they cover the DSG gearbox as per telesales call and as per warranty policy since it covers the Manual gearbox. The new Clutch kit for the vehicle is R15000.00+ and they refusing to process the claim based on the fact that the Manual Transmission is the same as the Automatic transmission, theredore want to pay R6000.00 even when the tech at VW told them they different and its even common sense that the transmissions are different.
In this case, I also think to employ legal action against motorite for false advertising and false clauses that they sell to us, imagine after having paid the policy for over 25 months. In any case, I will request a full refund from the company and report they are ********** services to the Consumer Protection Act and will commit to exposing them.on TV sessions like Checkpoint and other services that work with the CPA.
