failure to pay for serviced car

I took out a service plan with Motorite in June. My car was due for a service end of July but they advised me plan will only kick in after 3 premiums paid, I can take my car in for service, they will refund me. Unfortunately I lost my job end of July but I ensured that my premiums would be paid. End of September I reversed their debit order but then arranged with them to have it paid which I did. End of October, still currently unemployed reversed a debit order and sent email to Motorite requesting to have the premiums debited on the 4th of November and that I needed to take my car in for service again. Would me reversing my premium affect the policy? They told me everything was in order, I can go ahead take my car in for service and they will pay, which I did. They also sent me sms saying my refund for earlier service done was in process of payment. When my car was ready to be collected,, service provider told me Motorite is refusing to pay and ill bear the costs. Reason is I made 2 fiscal payments and that will terminate my policy with them. This was after I was told all is in order with my policy. Motorite are parasites that will suck you dry. Bad service and lies from them!!

Hello Azukiwe,

Dear Madam,

As per our records the monthly service plan was taken out during July 2015 and was set to start on the 01/08/2015. In order for cover to incept, 3 successful debits needed to go off your account. Our records indicate that there were only 2 successful debits received as the debit for October was reversed and Novembers debit was also not received. Our records also indicate that you inquired about the reversal of the debits and you were duly advised of the consequences thereof in that your cover would lapse. With Monthly products the cover is paid for and, or debited on the 1st of every month for the corresponding month ahead - due to 2 consecutive, unsuccessful payments your cover has lapsed with no refund amounts applicable. Motorite remains of the opinion that we have acted correctly in this instance.
