DO NOT take a policy with MOTORITE

A week in...and I still have not got an aswer from Motorite. I have now been without my car for a week. Motorite keeps coming up with reasons to prolong payout.

First, my policy was not actually active, because inception was only at 100000Km...while my car was at 69000km. So we had to do an “addendum”

Then they wanted photographs taken, which required stripping, and they gladly tell you that the stripping if for your own cost, on the event that they decide not to cover the claim. That took 3 days.

Then today I hear, they want to send out an assessor to listen to the sound my car makes. This will only happen in the next 48 hours.

DO NOT take out a policy with Motorite. I am regretting it all the way. The money I have soent on this policy, could have gone towards the repair already.

Wesbank should be ashamed to be associated with them, and for giving them my personal details in the first place!

Dear Sir,  Motorite has reviewed the matter and duly noted your comments and it is with great concern we received your e-mail outlining the problem you had with our service.  As previously advised, an Addendum is a process we utilise to update/amend the inception date or mileage on an extended plan or policy in accordance to an expired manufacturer’s plan or any other plan that was previously in place on the vehicle - as we are not aware of the kilometres travelled or time gone by.  In addition - should it be necessary to disassemble any component to establish the cause or extent of the damage, it is your responsibility to authorise such disassembly so as to establish whether there is any liability under your vehicle’s policy. However, you are entitled to a quotation before approving such costs and we will not proceed to strip without your authorisation of the quotation.  Regarding our claims turnaround times – claims are facilitated on its own merit within a reasonable timeframe. Some claims are administered within a day, some 2 days others 5 days – it depends on the nature of the claim. In some instances, for example – an engine needs to be stripped, an assessor appointed and only thereafter can a decision be made.  In this instance claims in currently waiting on clearer pictures to be submitted as well as the written failure report determining the cause of failure.  If you require any further information and/or assistance, please feel free to contact us.  Thank you for your cooperation and patience herein. Kind Regards,  Risk Management Complaints Division
