Good Day,
Thank you kindly for your below query.
In the event of a mechanical and/or electrical failure which is likely to result in a claim, you must advise the Administrator telephonically on the numbers provided. This email serves as notice to inform you accordingly on the claims procedure in moving forward.
Please note that in order to validate the policy, you must take all reasonable steps to service the vehicle as per vehicle manufacturer specifications by following the vehicle service intervals. All repair work must be authorised in advance and carried out by an approved Repairing Agent as recommended by the Administrator. Failure to obtain prior authorisation before the repair work has been done will invalidate your claim.
In the event that a claim needs to be logged for any mechanical repairs the procedure is as follows:
1. Make the necessary booking with a Repairing Dealership of your choice.
Services must be carried out at garages that offer full repair and service facilities. Acceptable garages include those:
• Appointed As Service Agents For The Manufacturer;
• Approved By The Manufacturer, And;
• Which Are Members Of The R.M.I. (Retail Motor Industry).
2. Kindly advise the Repairing Dealership of the type of plan you have (Warranty) and with whom (Motorite)
3. Provide the Repairing Dealership with our contact number (***) and your policy number, of which is mentioned in the subject line of this email
4. The repairing dealership will then in turn contact us to log a claim on your behalf, as we pay them for services rendered.
Information necessary when reporting a claim:
• Owner’s name;
• Policy number;
• Current odometer reading on your vehicle;
• Nature of mechanical failure / breakdown (fault, cause, remedy);
• Address where vehicle can be inspected;
• Service records and/or invoices;
• Receive authorisation prior to any repairs commencing.
Based on the above mentioned information, our claims division will then make an assessment of the claim and make an appropriate decision.
Any repairs carried out without prior authorisation from the claims department and without an official order or claim number will not be entertained.
Failure to comply with these conditions will invalidate the cover and therefore any claims made by you will be rejected.
Please Note:
Should stripping of an engine or any component be required for a claim to be assessed, then the cost of stripping and diagnosis is for your own account where the cause of breakdown and parts are not covered; however you are entitled to a quotation before approving such costs and we will not proceed to strip without your authorisation of the quotation.
When you collect your vehicle after repair, check that all work is properly completed. If you are not satisfied with the work done, do not accept the vehicle.
Should you have any queries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thanking you in advance for your cooperation.
Kind Regards,
Risk Management Complaints Division
