Arrogant and disrespectful owner and lack of accountability

Due to bad service history on my Chevrolet Aveo 1.6 sedan and sludge build up on my engine my mechanic suggested a complete engine overhaul. on the 15 November 2021 we booked the engine in for chemical clean of the block, rebore the block, the supply and fitment of pistons & rings, check & polishing of conrods, cut crankshaft and fit new bearings, completely set the shims and the supply of lifters on the cylinder head. All this was diagnosed by Steve's guys and I agreed with the diagnostic and accepted the quotation which amounted to about R9000 Plus minus. Steve had promised to return my engine on the 3rd day,after a week I called to expedite the progress of my engine where Steve then told me my engine would be complete they are having a difficult time sourcing new over sized pistons I then went with their sample and found the pistons and delivered them on Friday the 19 of November to Steve's workshop. I called the following week midweek to expedite progress and was advised I would receive the engine the Friday the 26 of November and I received it, unfortunately due to my mechanics schedule we where only able to fit the engine. The following week while trying to fit the engine we discovered that Steve and his guys had given us the wrong head which we had to return. We then assembled on the 3rd of December 2021 but due to the clutches main cylinder being damaged and had to be replaced it took us some time to procure a new one and replace it. on the 23 of December 2021 we received the main cylinder and fitted it after about 100km/s a tapping sound started on the engine and we immediately thought it was coming from the head and due to December holidays we could not return the engine head. On the 13 January 2022 we returned the head but Steve was not willing to consider or even try to diagnose or to conduct a fault finding without charging us he merely just blamed my mechanic for not setting the timing right. I then took the head to another engineering where they checked and confirmed the head was fine and that the problem could be a conrod knock, my mechanic then striped the block again and found that there was a bearing knock on number 1 conrod, we then booked the engine back to Steve on the 17th of January 2022 and showed him the knock on the engine and Steve on the receipt stated it was a return job. Yesterday on the 19th of January I called Steve to find the progress of my engine Steve then insisted on hanging up and would call me with the quotation I rejected the notion of paying for the same job again Steve hang up and didn't return my call as he had stated. Today morning I decided to pass there before work to find out what's going on Steve then advised me that there was an engine knock on number 1 which was caused by silicone that sealed the oil pump onto the block, only thing we found on the strainer was bearing pieces which are still on the strainer?How can silicone cause an engine knock? after realizing that I was not buying his silicone story he decides he will cut the crank shaft and supply me with new bearings but refuses to assemble it together what if the conrod is eaten must i now foot the expense again? Worst engineering experience ever Steve is rude and arrogant and not accountable at all. The truth is if there was an engine oil starvation we shouldn't have seen the splash the car had when oil tank cap was opened, furthermore the damage should have been at furthest point on the head not in the sump. If truly there is a silicone blockage why are the other 3 bearings fine still 100% fine? Is it right that there is no warranty given on Steve's services as less than a month and he insists on charging for a return job?
