air compressor repairs

A number of years ago (5) I purchased the 160l compressor. Only used it a few times but the last time I needed it it didn't work. Took it in for repairs only to be told it cannot be repaired. Too old. Now my problem is I payed R1699.00 for a compressor I only used a few times and now cannot be repaired. I do not find that accepable
