Shocking customer service

I am having the exact same experience now!! Really shocking and pathetic customer service!! I terminated my contract in October signing all the papers and being told that November would be my monthly debit order. I explained to the lady that I will be moving back to Cape Town as I will be completing my work contract in December therefore would be pointless having the contract further. When I terminated my contract in October I was told everything was final! Today for December month I got double debited to my account!! I call to find out why and they said it's for your monthly fees and another for a maintenance fee of some sort!! I was furious I was told that my contract was cancelled only to find out that the request was denied by head office and to be left in the dark as no one felt the need to convey this message to me. I told them if they told me I would have just ask if I could just settled a cancellation fee to which all gyms should have, instead of being debited without me having any use of the gym! After all my frastrastration and trying to get them to understand the lady at the reception blatantly just put the phone down in my ear!!! I emailed the manager and call them again and no one gives a damn of the pathetic customer service! I have never in my life experience such shocking customer service and I would never recommend motion fitness to anyone!

Good Afternoon Nigel,

Please accept our apologies for and frustration or inconvenience that this situation may have caused.

I have had a look into you complaint and found that on three different occasions you requested to cancel your membership, however the first two were declined as you were still in your minimum duration. You then requested to cancel again on the 20/01/2017 which was approved as it fell outside of your minimum duration, you enrolled with us on the 02/02/2016 on a 12 month membership. Your last debit order will be due on the 01/02/2017.

The two debit orders that you are referring to in your complaint in December is the normal monthly debit order and the annual levy that is due each December. This will have also been explained at the time you took out your membership, this would have been signed for on the terms and conditions as well as the presentation that was done for you and a copy of your membership agreement with these terms and conditions would have been given to you when you enrolled.

I hope that this clears up any misunderstanding that may have occured and please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything else we could assist you with.

Regards

Neil Strangleman
