Paid for Custom Website – Received Template, No Response, Refund Ignored

As a first-time business owner, I placed my trust in More Media (Reuben) to develop the website for my company. This is a critical part of launching a new business, and unfortunately the experience has been very far from what was agreed. We were provided with a proposal for a premium, conversion-focused website, including multiple pages, lead capture functionality, and a structure suitable for a high-end travel brand. Payment was made upfront based on this understanding. After more than four weeks, what was delivered was a basic, template-based site with minimal pages and limited functionality, which does not reflect the agreed scope or standard. The website was also made live without our review or sign-off, which was not authorised and placed us in a difficult position from a brand perspective. Since raising these concerns formally (including detailed written communication and follow-ups), we have received no response. At this stage: The website is not usable for our business The agreed scope has not been delivered And we are now forced to engage another provider, incurring further delays and cost We have therefore requested a full refund of the amount paid, which remains unresolved. This situation is particularly disappointing given the level of trust placed at the outset, and the impact this has had on the launch of a new business. We would still prefer to resolve this matter professionally and amicably, and invite Reuben / More Media to respond and bring this to a close.
