Don’t rent by moden flats in Dube Soweto.

Hi all I moved into a Rental place in Dube called Modern flats Rental was R3500 plus 300 for electricity ever since I moved in there things where not well I was also desperate for a place also, first thing I didn’t get a copy of my lease form for a good 6 months I only got it when I wanted to to leave. Now the landlord is something else. He doesn’t even care about you at all as a tenant , you have to ask for the parking key always if you wanna pack your car or if someone visited you had a car. He will not even tell you that he will be coming over for maintenance and when you complain he will tell you otherwise, he had a caretaker who was always drunk and couldn’t even fix things on time we will knock on your door at night to do maintenance even worse. I’ve always paid rent in advance so I never owed anything, I played my music well I even asked the people I stayed with to tell me if the music was loud. One day we saw candles lit in one of the rooms and we saw things that where not even addressed to us as tenants like spiritual healers coming in to perform retuals and he never even asked us if we are ok with that. He didn’t care about our spiritual beliefs that’s a rental place now people stay there and he didn’t care. He treated us like we nothing and we just have to pay him money and not say anything or complain. As a new person in the world of being a tenant I don’t know about rules like serving a month notice and all , but how can I if I don’t have a copy to read after to fami****ize myself with rules ? Now today as it’s the 30 Th of the month and I left before the month ended and paid my rent in advance he served me a letter saying I owe him money. (3500) for what ? He owes me my deposit money firstly and he’s been not good ever since with me. I’m asking you guys to help me with this as I feel like he’s taking chances not to pay me back my money. I advise anyone who stays around Soweto not to rent by Dube Moden Flats ever. The landlord is bad and will not treat you right.
