The environment isn't so nice.

Moove took over the Viva franchise and members are feeling it. Yes the one Pro is that there is a new layout and new equipment but if I had to choose, I would keep the old stuff and the old environment.

I personally was a viva client for 7 years without an issue.

The rest is cons. 1. National membership was cancelled out of the blue, personally I did not receive any notice of this. As a member I now nolonger have access to the clubs I had access to before. The business decision is one thing but the poor communication is another.

2. If you love being watched while you train, you will love the space. At the former Viva Oakdene club at least, you will be watched. It feels like shopping at some small, cheap store where you are followed so you don't *****.

3. Rules everywhere, made up on the spot. The new rules seem very random. You take a step to use by the Smith machine...not allowed. You take a powercore play and use it somewhere on the floor...not allowed. You take an old Ziva plate and use it to deadlift...not allowed...you place weights on the floor and they make a sound (not banging or dropping them)...not allowed. The rules are not written anywhere instead, as an adult, you have someone coming to scold you.

4. Hygiene, they don't care about the gym. The whole gym shares 2 rags to wipe down sweat and anything else. To wipe down equipment, you neee to go to a corner and take a rag that many other before you just used to clean things. This rag probably has more germs than the equipment.

5. Yip, they went ahead and bolted everything down. There is litteraly one adjustable bench that is still loose and good luck getting a hold of that to go do cable flyes. You can't deadlift just anywhere anymore, one deadlift platform has been made and that's it.
