Moove -Rosebank Bullying and Abuse of power
BULLYING, ************ AND UNFAIR TREATMENT BY MOOVE ROSEBANK MANAGEMENT
I am writing this complaint regarding the manner in which I have been treated by the management at Moove Rosebank, particularly the manager, Tsepiso Thulo. I am extremely frustrated and angry about this situation because I feel that I have been unfairly targeted, bul**** and intimidated despite making a genuine effort to follow the rules and instructions given to me as a paying member.
I joined Moove at the end of June 2026, and the person who assisted me with signing was the manager, Tsepiso Thulo. At no point during my joining process was I informed of specific gym rules regarding where certain exercises could or could not be performed, nor was I provided with any clear guidelines about restrictions on the use of equipment or gym spaces.
As time went on, I began learning about various rules informally from staff members. These included being told that certain equipment could not be moved, that certain exercises could not be performed in particular areas, and that equipment could not be used for exercises that would ordinarily be considered appropriate uses of that equipment.
Even when I personally found some of these rules unreasonable, I comp**** with them. I made an effort to respect the instructions given to me because I am a paying member and had no intention of creating conflict with staff.
One of the exercises I regularly perform is walking lunges. I do these as part of my leg training because I am specifically working towards gaining muscle, and walking lunges are also beneficial for my mobility.
Initially, I was performing my walking lunges in open areas of the gym. I was then approached and told that I was not allowed to use those areas for lunges. I asked where I was supposed to perform them instead, and I was directed to a particular space.
I have been using that space for more than a month specifically because I was instructed that it was the appropriate space for walking lunges.
I continued using that space without issue and followed the instruction I had been given. I would also like to point out that I have personally seen other members performing lunges in other areas of the gym, including the same space I was using.
Then, on Monday, 24 August 2026, while I was in the middle of my leg-day workout, I was approached by an employee and told that I could no longer perform walking lunges.
I questioned this because I had been following the instructions previously given to me. The employee told me that this was now the manager’s instruction.
I explained that I had specifically been told to use that particular space for walking lunges and that I had been doing so for over a month. At the same time, there were other members performing walking lunges.
At this point, I was understandably frustrated. The gym is already relatively small, and the space I had been instructed to use was also limited. Nevertheless, I told the employee that I would continue with my set and that the manager should speak to me directly if there was an issue.
Tsepiso Thulo subsequently approached me and told me that I was not allowed to perform walking lunges.
I explained to him that I had been doing exactly what I had been instructed to do. I had already been moved from other areas of the gym and had comp**** with those instructions. I was now being told that the very space I had been directed to use was suddenly no longer acceptable.
His response was essentially: “Well, new rules. You’re not allowed to do walking lunges.”
This is where I became extremely frustrated.
I explained that this exercise is important to my training and progress and that, as a paying member, I expected to be treated fairly and consistently. Rather than having a reasonable discussion with me or explaining why the rule had changed, I was threatened with disciplinary action. (On the letter he sent he even lies to say he suggested the ladies room, and that’s an absolute lie, I wasn’t given an option).
I was told that I could finish my set that day, but that if I performed walking lunges again, I would receive a warning. I was further told that if I continued after receiving a warning, my membership could be cancelled and I could be blocked from joining any other Moove Gym.
The manner in which this was communicated to me felt intimidating, threatening and completely disproportionate to the situation.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I did not perform walking lunges again after that conversation, yet I subsequently received a formal warning from the manager.
I find this completely unacceptable.
I had comp**** with the instructions given to me. I had changed where I exercised when asked. I had continued to follow the rules even when they were inconvenient or, in my view, unreasonable. Yet I was still treated as though I had deliberately violated the rules.
It leaves me questioning why I was being singled out in this manner, particularly when I have seen other members performing similar exercises in different areas of the gym.
The constant changing of instructions, combined with threats of warnings, cancellation of my membership and being prevented from joining other Moove gyms, has created an environment where I feel that management is using its position of authority to intimidate me rather than address issues fairly and professionally.
I am particularly concerned about the threat that I could supposedly be blocked from joining other Moove gyms. I do not believe that a manager should be able to make such a serious threat against a paying member simply because the member questioned an inconsistent or newly introduced rule.
