Moonstone and the Financial Planning Institute are Running a Lucrative ****
Moonstone is running with a money-making **** and in the process making millions of Rand off of the backs of poor Africans in South Africa.
Basically, here's how the **** is run by Moonstone: 1. The Financial Services Board requires certain people who work in the financial services industry (banks, insurance companies, motor vehicle dealers, loan sharks, etc.) to write an exam called RE5. It's a long story but it's like having a driver's license when you need to work as a driver, or the necessary papers if you want to operate as a doctor or social worker or attorney, etc.
2. The financial services industry employs more people than any other industry in the country and as a result many, young and old, are employed there and want to keep their jobs- thus they are literally forced to undergo this RE5 exam (so far so good)
3. The issue comes in where the actual exam is concerned: Moonstone, by far the largest and busiest exam body nationally when it comes to RE5, and FPI (Financial Planning Institute) have this question bank comprising many, many questions that are used in the exams. So far so good. But a huge collection of their question are designed to test compliance understanding and knowledge in general, but rather they are designed to confuse candidates.
4. As a result of point 3 above, the majority of those who do write the RE5 (and RE1) exams end up failing it more than once, not from a lack of dedication but mainly from the fact that the exam questions are so designed as to confuse candidates and increase their chances of failing the exam by a huge margin.
5. As a result of point 3 above, most people fail this exam and have no choice but to re-enroll and rewrite this exam, which costs no less than R1226.00 per exam sitting. The FSB does not seem to care because likely there's some *******ion involved, or because it's mainly Africans in South Africa who suffer from this injustice and it is these Africans who lose millions of Rand annually, and as you know by now, their lives and well-being and rights don't matter in South Africa.
Someone has to look intently into this whole multi-million-Rand **** by Moonstone, FPI and by implication the Financial Services Board. This is unfair. We are not stupid!!!
