Worst Experience Ever in My entire existence

I have the worst ever story to share about this restaurant, billy G in Montecasino - where I had booked for my mom’s surprise 50th birthday (it was a booking of 25 people and it was going to be on the 21st March 2020. On the 11th February I paid in the full amount of R5250.00 as per their policy that if you’re booking for more than 16 people you are required to pay in 100%. The shutdown had not been implemented at this point it was just the “No serving alcohol after 6pm” which I was fine With, they called me the whole week to check with me if I’m still happy with the new regulations and I was fine with them (as people had already been invited already, on the day of the event (21 March)- I got an SMS saying that my booking has been cancelled without my permission, to my shock I called them - they said all reservations have been cancelled. I was shocked that they had the whole week to tell me this yet they chose to tell me on the day of my mom’s 50th birthday- I can’t explain the shock and disappointment I was in. I had to make alternative plans as I had people coming from far who were looking forward to this. I will never in my life recommend this restaurant. To this day I have not been refunded my money. The manager even hangs up the phone on me. I can’t believe this is the memory I’ll have of my mom’s 50th birthday
