Montecasino - racing to the BOTTOM (bad luck?)

The late great Montecasino in Fourways continues its race to the bottom. Hit by the pandemic, this casino is responding with a desperate marketing strategy - milk every visitor / no one leaves as a WINNER.

The smell of desperation (casino) and despair (customers) permeates the casino floor. This is a casino in need of a reboot. It feels tired. It looks tired. The passion and the excitement have gone - along with the basics of a casino - people need to believe they can win... and have fun doing so.(even if they lose)

Sadly this casino has become a casino filled with losers - walking around in a daze and feeling like they have been ******.

But don’t take my word for it - go experience it for yourself. While you are there, watch this at the Roulette tables: 1. look at the numbers that are the most punted and watch in wonder and amazement how the ball manages to just miss these high payout numbers. If you know the numbers on the wheel you will soon realise that the ball lands in the lower payout numbers just to the left or right (neighbours) - with unbelievable consistency and accuracy. (bad luck??) 2. Leave out a number, which is a neighbour to your biggest bet and see how often this number will be spun. (bad luck??) 3. Watch how often a new croupier will spin their first spin into an empty number (everyone gets unlucky??) 4. Watch when a punter wins and gets value from the croupier how they will lose their remaining chips (winning twice in a row is almost impossible) ...(bad luck?) 5. Remove a winning bet off the number and stand back and watch the double spin. (such bad luck) 6. When playing low value chips (R10) you may win occasionally but press the bet with R25/R50/R100 chips - and you will lose every time (bad luck) 7. On your arrival at the Roulette table,pay attention to your first spin. You will lose (get back less money / no money than you bet) 9 out of 10 times. 8. Play this game in your head .... look at the table and ask yourself: if I was the casino what numbers would I avoid (heavily punted) and which would be best for the casino (empty number/ low payout neighbours) and you will be amazed that you are suddenly almost predicting the numbers. 8. Take the opportunity to observe play at the Roulette machines and you will notice that there are screens that show digitally how many chips are placed on a number. The most punted number is computed. Watch how these numbers are miraculously avoided. (I have experienced two and a half hours / 180 spins where zero was heavily punted and never hit. The neighbours to zero (five on either side) came up 45 times (25%). Zero was spun within five spins of me stopping playing this number (after 2.5 hours - just bad luck?) (I have spent two hours slowly accumulating chips and then deciding that as I had to leave - to punt heavily (R1500 per spin) I left two numbers empty (16 and 18). Having drawn a small crowd I commented that 16 or 18 were strong probabilities. 16 came in. I hit repeat bet and the already stunned watchers nearly collapsed as 18 came in as I had predicted. Bad luck?? Ya right!!

Having been a frequent visitor to Montecasino over the last 20 years and ‘Black Card’ holder I have concluded that this card donates (pun intended) the ‘biggest losers’ club. This casino is simply driving away customers in its race to the bottom - with a marketing strategy that would make Las Vegas casino’s turn green with envy.....making nearly every visitor a victim / loser : taking their money, frustrate and anger them. Then hoping they return!!!

So be aware and be warned - Montecasino has lost the plot. Experience this ‘lucky’ casino for yourself - just don’t be naive. It’s a terrible, sad and sole destroying experience. It just happens to be a casino with a marketing strategy (pay %)that is so desperate that it is driving customers away. Stay away!!
