Billy G Silverstar is a No Go!!
I recently visited the Billy G at Silverstar for my daughter's birthday, something we almost always do because their food is sooo good, which includes the ambiance and the service especially at the price being paid per person at R220. Well in December, the experience received was not good at all. I first of all made a reservation as there was quite a few of us and had to wait a full hour before the place was actually cleaned up and sorted - I had to myself enquire if we could go in to be seated, so I was basically hosting myself and this establishment. The food was not good at all - I don't complain about food, but when I do, understand that it was not good. First of all, we had to pay before we eat, which I think in some sense is a good thing, but then at least ensure that the food is good. The food in general was absolutely flavorless - with the exception of the beef / mutton curry on offer. Where Billy G used to have ribs, prawns, meat that was cut for you off the silver stick by a chef, various options of rice and salads, sushi options, salad dressings and sauces (labelled) - unfortunately not the case anymore. I will no longer go to this establishment - they used to have toilets upstairs, now you have to leave the establishment - There used to be a menu for drinks, now you need to purchase 1.5 litres of coldrinks with your glasses and ice - ****tails alone were R65 and I didnt even want to know what size the ****tail glasses were. There was a baby seat yes, but no cutlery or plates or cups to accommodate any toddler for that matter - a Huge disappointment and I've also sent a review on he dine with us platform as well as told many friends and family who also enjoyed going to Billy G. Unfortunately due this this mismanagement of this restaurant (can't even call it that) at Silverstar Casino, my taste for all Billy G's has gone down the drain and will take extreme convincing so go anywhere near there again especially if it is for a function.
