Understanding the game rather than trying to beat it

One of the buyers stopped me in traffic to tell me he wants to buy my car. We settled on a price and that it was voetstoets. I was asked to drop my car off at Monte Carlo. Next thing "the experts" start looking at my car. The one says the paint work does not match. I found that interesting considering it's a one owner vehicle and the car has never been in an accident. Obviously you know what these honest brokers are already trying to do. The next trick is they switch on this 1994 classic and lo and behold it starts at first go and purrs like a baby but that does not suit the narrative so the expert suggests the engine is tired eventhough she can reach 180km/h and cruise like a daisy and switch on better then any of the new cars but other expert pipes up and says yes and milage is high at 270000km for a 27 year old car???? Then the funniest expert says the seats are tired. Clearly they not sure about the fact that everything in this car is 100% original and therefore makes this car even more expensive and appealing. However expert turns around and says yup worth R50000. Luckily they would never qualify as valuators for the Merc Club I understand why they get the ratings they do here!! Would not buy or trade a merc in with them until someone teaches them about them.
