DISREPUTABLE, DISRESPECTFULL, DISHONEST

I had contacted Monte Carlo Auto in Hurlingham, Sandton, on Saturday 29 April 2017 to enquire regarding a vehicle they had advertised on Cars.co.za. Spoke to Chris, he was affable. Chris advised that the car in question was still available and that I should come through to view the vehicle. So I did. I liked the vehicle very much and agreed to purchase it at the agreed amount, half finance and half cash. In hindsight, I should have known something was amiss when he didn’t ask me to sign any documentation there and then. I had the cash deposit which I was immediately willing to part with, since I liked the vehicle that much! Chris declined and said that he requires some documentation in order to proceed with the sale, I promptly e-mailed him a utility bill and simultaneously provided him with a hard copy of my Drivers licence and ID document. I said would let him have the much needed 3 months payslips on Tuesday, 02 May 2017, seeing that Monday was a public holiday. I sent him the payslip’s on Tuesday and he happily says that he has received the e-mail. 2 days went by and he doesn't contact me.....I contact him and he says he is busy with paperwork promising to call me back in 10 min. Same story on the 3rd day...promising to call me back in 10 min.....same story yet again today......Those were indeed the longest 10 min of my life…. This afternoon my husband called his office, he happened to be out so my husband speaks to his colleague who advises us that the car had been sold on Saturday already. Naturally this is upsetting, so there was a huge amount of backlash from our side. When my husband called him to rant he advises that we have no recourse. This seems to be his modus operandi. Lucky I dodged a bullet on this one, however…the ****bag is sitting with all my personal documents. STEER CLEAR FROM THIS DISREPUTABLE, DISRESPECTFULL, PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A HUMAN BEING.
