Mistakes installing a bath and mixer :(((

It's a bit tough to criticize a small company, but these guys do need a reality check. I don't mind mistakes, but trying to convince me that their incorrect methods are the norm is just painful to experience.

I have renovated 9 properties in the last 12 months (Life has been hectic) and found the BS that these guys came up with frustrating and even entertaining. This is my first complaint over that period.

We had a bath installed by monster plumbing. They installed it with the filler nozzle on the opposite side of the wall tap, which I found unusual. When questioned about it that explained that they do it that way because it is easier to access the filler in case of a leak, which they said apparently happens often. Rather amusing considering that a filler nozzle is a non-pressurized system and almost never leaks as it is only used for the few minutes while you fill up the bath. Perhaps I’m just pedantic, so onto the next issue.

Second huge problem is that they installed my mixer tap so that it protrudes too far out of the wall. The cover plate sits almost 2 centimetres off the wall and cannot be *****ed in.
If you know a bit about plumbing, mixer taps have a guide which indicated how deep the mixer should sit in the wall on installation. This is typically on the cover that is left in place for installation.

So this was ignored and we are left with cover plate that does not site flush and cannot even be *****ed in.

I think they work on the basis that they teach plumbing and send their young guys out into the field to cut their teeth, sometimes at a clients expense.

Dear Nick
We conducted this work in February 2016 (5 months ago) at your premises. At the time, we explained the variables during the work being conducted and we provided acceptable responses to all your queries (to correct you, we were advising you on the Bath Trap/Waste not on the “Filler Nozzle” (Bath Spout) for any possible future maintenance work as these parts form the outlet for the water). Once the job was complete, we even received a call from you after hours to Thank Us for a job well done. You did have the query with regards to the Diverter Mixer which you emailed us about and we responded the same day (17 Feb 2016 at 01:01PM – I can resend our email) advising you that we are happy to send our technician to meet with you and to rectify anything of concern as we have a 3 month workmanship warranty – you never rep**** to us! You/your wife was on site during the installation and our team took instructions from you both as to how you wanted the sanware installed. We find it rather strange that you run to this unmonitored platform to voice your opinions when just yesterday, you would of received our “Letter Of Demand” as you have still not settled your overdue invoice for the balance that was owing from this job after our many follow up attempts via email and telephone. As per our records, you spoke with our Debtors Manager on 10 March and again on 19 May when you advised her you would call her back…which you didn’t. So if you still had a gripe with us, then why didn’t you report it to her during either telephonic conversations? One could say looking at the facts, that you have decided to try to bend the truth on this platform in an effort to harm us all the while you are the one in the wrong for not paying your supplier – you have an operating bathroom at our expense! Yes, we do have a College and the few students that are assistants on site are always overviewed by our Main Technician and work under them to assist them. They are never sent to our clients houses alone – they would be in our College for 3 months prior conducting their theory/practical work on plumbing and then become assistants – it is an industry norm for a plumber to have an assistant. Being in the community you should be proud that you use the service of a company who invests into training the new generation rather than badmouthing them when you fail to pay your bills.
