Review of monroe shock absorbers
Monroe Shocks
Currently struggle with Monroe Shocks on my Ford Focus. Drive like a brick, VERY hard and Cluck sound. Not getting a answer regarding the problem, took it back 5+ times even took it to Supa Quick. Really not happy with these shocks, drove the car from new, At this stage it is costing me more money to try and get an answer for the rough ride.

Monroe no sales!
Monroe shock absorbers need to change their name to no more no more. They don’t seem to need sales anymore. Ordered shocks in March and still waiting. Make false promises when they coming and don’t even stick to it. Most companies have air freight but not Monroe they rather keep you waiting. How nice it would be to work for a company that does not need sales.

i brought new shocks for my hyundai i20 2013 8 months ago and then the left shock was climbing off from the pressed in rubber and then when i wanted to report it they told me it is not the correct shocks for my car which i dont understand because they give you new shocks once you supply youre vin number and then when i phoned the offices i get told there is no one to help me because there is only one person that handles it and everytime i phone back he is on leave

Monroe shocks are incorrect in their catalogue
Would not recommend to anyone
On 6th June I had a new set of Monroe shocks fitted front and back with new shock mountings at a superquick(their service was superb) I noticed the car was floating on the road and the tracking seemed to be off. I thought maybe the shocks needed to settle and continued driving. Car was very unstable on corners and open road. I went to super quick to check the alignment which was fine. After making a call to a Monroe reseller to enquire about possible problems and solutions it came to light that it had happened before on other polo's the same model as mine. I had to buy new shocks due to the car being unstable on the road. I took the Monroe shocks back to the original super quick and asked the manager to get the rep to contact me. It is now 3 weeks later and no response from Monroe. Very disappointing and expensive exercise. Would not recommend to anyone.

Monroe and Midas Waterval Rustenburg will give you a good fingering
I wrote in regarding Monroe shock absorbers, Midas Waterval, and the rep Michael who just chose to give me the finger, after I was given the 2 left shocks and made to pay again for the right side shock. No word from him just the lady who assisted and advised that it’s a no go from Monroe. No call from Monroe, or the rep just a cold hard middle finger, saying you bought it, we might have put in the wrong product in the box but you bought it, thanks for your money here is no service. This really puts a really sour taste in my mouth as I feel robbed and you guys are just laughing it off.

Monroe gives me the bumpy finger
I recently bought my Monroe shocks for my Honda Civic 1.5 2004, from Discount Midas Waterval, parts no. 16471 and 16472. I took the parts went home to fit. Firstly the holes on the shocks for the bolts are smaller than the Honda’s original bolt, so you always have to make the hole bigger first and fit the bolt to make sure that it goes through. We prepped the holes and than discovered that we were given 2 left shocks. We fitted the left shock and the next day went back to Midas to inform them of this incorrect part. Manager refused to hear me out because we had altered the shock by making the whole slightly bigger. I informed him that yes we altered the part but I didn’t think I would be given to left shocks, I asked that we share this mistake and if he cannot take the shock back he atleast give me a discount on another shock, since I needed the right shock. He told me I must speak to Monroe it’s not their fault and that you guys would never accept the shock I wanted to return, and it didn’t matter that I was given the wrong shock even though the box says it’s a right side shock. The salesperson gave me a R200 discount on the 3rd shock that I had to purchase and sent me along. I would like to get a response from Monroe or you he agent as to how do we proceed with this. I left the shock at the shop and went home. I was told an agent would contact me and give me a verdict. This was on the 27th July.
The rep from Monroe (Michael) has on the 4th of August 2022, said No! can’t help.
I really feel cheated

To date have had no feedback or reply on what they are doing to replace these.
Disgusting service from Monroe and their installation partners supa quick.
I do not recommend that anybody fit this junk to their cars.

Today 8 days later and 1496 km later both front shock absorber s are stuffed.
The spot welded retaining tabs have broken off.
The dealer Supaquick says he is not responsible as it's our roads.
Real junk will never recommend these to anybody.
And the after sales service is non existent.

Had a set fitted originally 15 months ago on my Honda CR-V 35000 km and kaput.
My original Gabriel's 3 years 100000km .
New set of Monroe's installed 1000km and they are making a noise. Worse than my old set.
Installer blaming bad roads.
Jokes aside not impressed by these not recommending them to anybody.

BAD EXPERIENCE WITH MONROE SHOCKS
Due to previous experience I decided to replace my front shocks with Monroe OE spectrum when I experienced trouble . due to a leak. I had them replaced on my Chevy Aveo LT and afterwards decided to replace the rear shocks also with Monroe as a set for the car. I discovered that the front Shocks are ordinary OE and NOT the spectrum I ordered. Monroe ordered a set from America as this type are not available in South Africa. Due to the lock down it is still not available but on order.
I then decided to make a good job and had all 4 tyres replaced with Firestone Journey tyres. This I did in March 2020 just before the lock down On my way home I was disgusted with the comfort of my vehicle and found that she is hard to control and rides very bumpy.
After 3 000 km I contacted Firestone during Level 2 and made an appointment with the rep. After careful inspection of tyres the rep replaced two tyres which showed unusual wear after this period.Even after deflating tyres to 1,8Bar the car just kept on riding bumpy which made me decide to contact Monroe.
Monroe advised me that the shocks are in the PE Harbour and will be available one or another time.
Firestone advised me that the shocks of the car is extremely hard which is the cause of the bumpy ride.
Over the past weekend I just had enough of this bumpy ride and replaced the rear Monroe shocks with the old KYB shocks and what a difference on the riding comfort of my vehicle
As soon as possible I am going to replace the front shocks also with KYB when available\
PLEASE do NOT support Monroe with their so called Original Equipment Shocks as they are definitely NOT up to standard for south African roads, give a very bumpy ride and not comfortable at all. This I can prove with the KYB shocks I installed and cancellation of the OE spectrum Monroe shocks I have never been so disgusted with shocks in all my life and will not support Monroe any more

Complaint on Suzuki East London beacon bay

I baught a Suzuki Fronx on the 21st of November 2024 and on the 30th of December while I was on my way to East London, just 200m before I arrive on my final destination it started showing signs of heating and the windscreen was full of vapour so I tried to pack it aside the road to check what was wrong with it and it just went off refusinng to start. Then I called tower truck to tow the car where I booked myself then the following day I called Suzuki and they tow it to Suzuki East London because the car is under warranty of 5 years. Now suzuki is refusing to fix the car under warranty nor to give me another car as I've been stuck in East London for the last 9 days they say that I must pay had cash for it to be fixed and find a way home... I've been arguing with them for almost everyday I even called their head offices till today I don't have something legit that I can say it's a progress in this matter, I feel like they are taking advantage of me not having clue when it comes to car and dillerships as they would tell me this today and do the other on the next day... Please kindly assist me with this you my last hope am stuck I can't do anything and I should be at work Monday next week, Thank you as you receive this.

The actual service took longer than anticipated.
The motorite service plan approval was only obtained late in the afternoon as opposed to just after the vehicle inspection was done.
I was told that the vehicle will be ready the next day at 10am and then again told that it would be ready at 12:00.
I was collected by the shuttle servicer just before 1pm and was made to wait almost an hour before i could take the vehicle.
I also requested that my service advisor have a look at my head light as it had changed colour to orange and not white as the other side. The service advisor could not detect the fault and did not provide any feedback as to the discolouration.
I had also requested that the service advisor take a look at my PDC button as my front PDC only works if i first select reverse and then engage Drive, the button does not put the front PDC on. The service advisor could not advise on the issue and simply said that it is weird that this is happening.
I took out a service plan so that i could continue to service my car at Audi so that i could have peace of mind that the car is kept in good condition all round. I expected Audi Rivonia to be able to advise on what the possible faults could be so i could have it repaired by them.
This was definitely not the experience i expected from Audi Centre Rivonia

I had also requested that the service advisor take a look at my PDC button as my front PDC only works if i first select reverse and then engage Drive, the button does not put the front PDC on. The service advisor could not advise on the issue and simply said that it is weird that this is happening.
I took out a service plan so that i could continue to service my car at Audi so that i could have peace of mind that the car is kept in good condition all round. I expected Audi Rivonia to be able to advise on what the possible faults could be so i could have it repaired by them.
This was definitely not the experience i expected from Audi Centre Rivonia

Complaint on Suzuki East London beacon bay

I baught a Suzuki Fronx on the 21st of November 2024 and on the 30th of December while I was on my way to East London, just 200m before I arrive on my final destination it started showing signs of heating and the windscreen was full of vapour so I tried to pack it aside the road to check what was wrong with it and it just went off refusinng to start. Then I called tower truck to tow the car where I booked myself then the following day I called Suzuki and they tow it to Suzuki East London because the car is under warranty of 5 years. Now suzuki is refusing to fix the car under warranty nor to give me another car as I've been stuck in East London for the last 9 days they say that I must pay had cash for it to be fixed and find a way home... I've been arguing with them for almost everyday I even called their head offices till today I don't have something legit that I can say it's a progress in this matter, I feel like they are taking advantage of me not having clue when it comes to car and dillerships as they would tell me this today and do the other on the next day... Please kindly assist me with this you my last hope am stuck I can't do anything and I should be at work Monday next week, Thank you as you receive this.

The actual service took longer than anticipated.
The motorite service plan approval was only obtained late in the afternoon as opposed to just after the vehicle inspection was done.
I was told that the vehicle will be ready the next day at 10am and then again told that it would be ready at 12:00.
I was collected by the shuttle servicer just before 1pm and was made to wait almost an hour before i could take the vehicle.
I also requested that my service advisor have a look at my head light as it had changed colour to orange and not white as the other side. The service advisor could not detect the fault and did not provide any feedback as to the discolouration.
