Monroe magnum gas shocks

I bought two shocks for my Prado 150 as I thought they might help with tramlining issues towing my caravan. They fitted easily and worked OK with the van. I later fully solved the steering issues but when I got home and parked the van and used the car on its own I found it was not as smooth as it should be. I put the old (150k klms) toyota shocks back in and WOW, it's nice again. So I reckon monroe put in too much compression damping and not enough rebound because it kicked and shook on medium ripples. I have learnt a lesson here.
