Moneystar and HTN Attorneys - pathetic is not the word

I had a loan with this comoany in 2013, which to my knowledge had been settled. At the beginning of Dec 2021, I received a telephone call from an attorney saying that I owed R10 000 on this loan. I requessted proof of my indebtness to them, I received a statement from the attorney, which has accumulated an astronomical amount of interest and fees. I requested a settlement discount to settle the account, for which they now want bank statements and a payslip. I am not asking for a loan, I am trying to pay them. I have also requested the attorneys banking details, which I have still not been able to attain either, I have made 4 requests for this information, which they will not give me unless I make payment arrangements! Why would I have requested settlement discount if I am not making payment arrangements? The langauge used in the communication received from the attorneys leaves a lot to be desired, with words such as "wanna" and so on, now I am not sure if this is a ****, I would like to know what my legal rights are as I am trying to settle this account and they are making it impossuble and threatening to blacklist me.
