worst banking experience ever
i walked in to MoneyGram kolonade on Friday 20 october 2017 to collect some money that was sent me from abroad. on entering all the 3 tellers just stared at me with the "what do you want" look. i told them the purpose of my visit and handed over my ID. The lady just ordered me to go to my bank to get a banking profile or bring a proof of res before i could be assisted. i comp**** and i was back in a few minutes with a bank profile. i took the same seat and the lady kept browsing through her cl###s catalogue for a while before she could assist me. i handed the papers and thats when i started feeling real pain just to collect money that was sent to me. the process to over 30min and i had to answer barells of personal questions to me which were absolutely irrelevant to my business:
*are you married? How long have you been married? in community of property or not *where do you work? how long have you been there? whats your salary? whats the address of the company? contacts? *who sent the money? what relation do you have?
All this was after i had filled in a collection form, spelled out the collection code and given her my Identity Doc. Nothing was explained to me why such personal information was necessary for collection of money. the process was just a pain in the hind.
