DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!

I contacted MONARC plastering JHB in February because I needed to rhinolite the ceiling and walls of my lounge, kitchen and dining area. Peter Erwee gave me a quotation and after I accepted he insisted I sent him the proof of payment for the deposit straight away ( even asking the bank to clear the funds immediately) even when the job was supposed to start three weeks later. He insisted he needed to buy the material at 2015 prices before the price increase. I should have known better his company is cash strapped and probably bankrupt. He and his team then came through to plaster the area. A week after a huge crack appeared on my ceiling, Peter's team came through and did absolutely nothing basically covering the plaster crack with some more rhinolite which of course cracked again a couple of days later. He then promised he would have organised a team to come and assess the situation (again?? and they claim to be construction professionals....) on a Saturday. I staid home waiting for the team to come and of course Peter came up with some lies about him being in tembisa and not being able to find his workers (huge lie). So he never showed up. The week after the plaster from my ceiling starting to fall all over my lounge. I sent him all the pics, he apologized (thats what he is very good at doing) and said they basically had not assessed the situation properly and they would have needed two more days to finish the job (which of course I would have had to pay extra). I told him I did not want to see him or his workers anymore and that I would have found an alternative company to redo the whole ceiling which at that stage had all come down. Bear in mind that this is already almost two months after they started the job so I was completely fed up as my lounge was in a disastrous state. He then promised he would have bought me the material and at least reimbursed 1500R to pay for some of the work. To cut the story short, 3 months after their first job, I have not seen a single cent rather than promises after promises every week he would pay me back. DO NOT USE THEM! I ended up almost paying thrice the amount I should have paid, he wasted my money and my time like no other contractor has ever done before. It is clear he and his company are cash strapped (unless he just continuously ****) and insolvent. They did a terrible job which I paid in full and not even had the decency to do anything about it. These companies should not be allowed to operate in SA. I just hope that no-one else will use him and his company.
