Moffat on Main Preowned in Port Elizabeth sold me a faulty car 6 weeks ago and won't accept responsibility

<p>On 31 July 2017 I bought a 2016 VW Move Up! from Moffet on Main Preowned. The car had done 14500 Km and so was covered by VW's 3 year warranty. Now, after only 6 weeks, the first gear has a problem as it judders when pulling off from even a small incline. I took the car to VW yesterday (19 September 2017) but they said that it may not be a warranty issue and it would cost R4000 just to open up the gearbox to see what the problem was. VW told me it would likely cost around R12000 to fix the problem. I then went straight to Moffet on Main Preowned and raised my concerns with Deon, the salesman that I had bought the car from. I said I was not happy to own this car which already had gearbox problems and asked for my money back less R5000 for the on road costs paid by the dealer. He called me the next day to say that he had spoken to one of the directors who said he was not interested in my problem and that I must take it up with VW. I am disgusted at this attitude. I certainly did not cause a gearbox problem in the 6 weeks I had the car as the main reason I bought it was for the economy and so had driven it very carefully. So this must have been a latent defect in the car when i bought it. Another unrelated issue I have with this firm is that when I bought the car I was told that it had a GPS navigation system. This was a&nbsp;mistake as all it had was a Garmin on board computer which was effectively just a fancy try counter. I will certainly never buy another car from Moffet on Main Preowned. They have sold me a lemon and won't take responsibility for it.</p>
