*********** and rude. Not prepared to rectify a wrong.

Modantique came highly recommended by a client of mine to make two kitchen cupboard doors. A sketch was made and sent to them, clearly showing the dimensions, and quoted accordingly. Paul Visser from the company then requested a sample door for design and colour match. I drove 45minutes to get to them to drop the sample off. I was assured it would be done by the end of the week. I was told I needed to pay a 50% deposit before work commences. In my naivety and trust, I paid the total amount in full. First mistake. I phoned the Friday and was told there is no way it will be ready. Needles to say after a few more days I was eventually told that the job that they had quoted on, the quote I didn't argue the price on and the quote that I paid for in full, was a waste of their time and should never have been taken on! Eventually, a few weeks later on a Friday afternoon, I was contacted to say the doors were ready for collection. I drove there immediately and collected. After trying to hang the doors the following morning, I realised that they had not only made the doors 1135mm high, instead of the 1350mm they had quoted on, but also made the doors with 3 panels instead of the 4 panels as per sample! So now I am sitting with 2 doors that don't fit or match the rest of the kitchen! Modantique were contacted and I was told that I must bring the sample through AGAIN for them to make new doors. I was not prepared to drive all that distance and waste all that time for their incompetence. I gave them the option to either collect the doors, remake and deliver, or reimburse 50% of my costs. Paul rep**** asking for my bank details. A month and a half later, after a number of emails for follow up, I phoned, to be told he will only pay a pittance and doesn't like the way I do business! Do not do business with these people!
