Pathetic Manager conduct!

Almost two weeks ago, we ordered the family variety feast which comes with half chicken and two burgers. We specifically asked them numerous times, not to cut the chicken as they had previously done, we want the half chicken intact, because previously, they took random four pieces and gave us as 'half chicken'. Once we got home, we ate the burgers and saved the chicken for later. Again, they had given us 4 random pieces of dry chicken and labelled it 'half' - it was to late to return that night so we returned it first thing the next morning. They remembered us from the day before and took the chicken back and said they would investigate and get back to us. Almost two weeks later, WE had to phone them to find out what was the outcome. The store manager said that it was store policy that we produce the receipt and then only would they re-do the order. But none of the staff mentioned this when they took the returned chicken back the very next day. Now the store manager says that if we want we can come fetch the same chicken we returned two weeks ago as they still have it somewhere in their fridge! Otherwise he wont do anything. What an appalling attitude towards paying customers who are now short on half a chicken which was returned to the store and which they are keeping for us indefinitely it seems, so we can come fetch at some time!
