We had a frustrating and terrible experience today, sharing because I would hate for more people to make the same mistake.

They came to our house after telling us the call out fee was R395, to simply replace one part of our door lock - and handed us a R4300 invoice for the 10 minute job.

They charged us R1995 for a part of a lock which we priced at R800 for the entire set online.

The rest was labour. Not even doctors charge that as an hourly rate. It was totally ridiculous and when trying to discuss with them - they say that it’s how they bill, they don’t bill per hour they bill for what they had to do. They un*****ed a lock, checked which part was faulty and *****ed a new part in.

The mans said his name was Norman (another lie I suspect), he then took our remote for our house with him when walking to his car to get his invoice book, because he was worried we weren’t going to pay.

The service was totally unprofessional and the price was *******. This is a **** and they will bully you into paying.

We eventually got him to remove the part, because we didn’t want to pay R2000 for a small piece of the R800 kit - but had to pay the rest, after being intimidated and rudely dealt with by the guy.

When I called the call centre, they said they don’t decide the rates, each individual locksmith does and then they put the phone down on me.

Wish we had done more research before calling
