24-7 Gauteng Locksmith ********* & should be avoided

We moved out of a factory in Sunderland ridge/Centurion to a new factory. Because we were tenants we had to do a hand-over to the letting company. For us to get our deposit back there were a few things we had to repair, one of them being an aluminium door that was jammed stuck.

I googled a locksmith and found a number *** and spoke to Marlize. I asked if they could help and said sure they have a R350 callout. I then asked what more or less they will charge to open a jammed door. She said she didn’t know because the locksmith doing the job will be able to give that info. I asked if she couldn’t give me a ballpark figure or hourly rate because my boss would want to know this info. She just said she doesn’t know.

So I schedule to meet a locksmith in 30min time. After the guy being 30min late a man called Evert shows up, I show him the problem and he proceeds to drill out the lock. This did not help, he then wedged the aluminium doors open at the bottom and top and after a struggle and damaging the aluminium door he finally opened it. It took 20 minutes.

He then proceeds to write an invoice of R2895.00. Charges included R350 call out, opening fee of R1250 and another opening fee of R1250.00- these two amounts was for drilling the lock out and wedging the door open top and bottom and getting the pin out.

On the invoice the company is listed as Emergency locksmith Gauteng but on google its something else (see pic attached) their website is http://24-7gautenglocksmiths.co.za Other contact info as on their website is; TELL: *** EMAIL: *** ADDRESS : 100 Ralph St, Pretoria, 0116

The stamp on the invoice reads Evert’s emergency locksmiths. I managed to get the total invoice down to R2595.00 because I told him he had dented the aluminium door and never bothered to clean up the shaving of the lock he drilled out.

Please let me know what you think of this. I see MULTIPLE complaints about people being ********** by this company on Hello Peter. This is very ********* people and they need to be stopped.
