Mobicel zoom tablet

I bought the zoom tablet from Ackermans last year and kept it boxed for my sons birthday after a few uses by me adding in all the software, the battery died I charged it and it never switched back on. I sent it for repairs and they claim it has water damage. No where has the phone ever came into contact with any liquid or steam for that matter. Now I’m left to pay for a phone I haven’t even used
