False information

My dad bought his phone a year ago and it's still under warranty and he was told that he can not book it in for repair. But when the manager checked the purchase date and IMEI number it reflects that the mobile phone its still under warranty and it is still covered the manager didn't want to go through the length service of loading it in but told a customer a lie.
