They will not settle your vehicle, they will incur traffic fines, and just send you from pillar to post.

Vehicle Purchased: 2021 Peugeot 2008 1.2 Branch: MMU Stilfontein Date of Delivery: 26 October 2025

While the initial service from the sales representative at the MMU Stilfontein branch was satisfactory, the post-sale administration and customer support have been appalling, leading to significant financial and administrative distress.

1. Failure to Settle Trade-In Vehicle Promptly The most concerning issue is the delay in settling the trade-in vehicle. Despite assurances from the sales team that the settlement had been processed, the delay resulted in us incurring an additional monthly debit order for the traded-in vehicle, simultaneous to the debit order for the new vehicle.

We notified the salesman in mid-November that a debit order for the trade-in was still due.

We were assured the settlement was complete.

At the end of the month, we were debited for both vehicles.

As of the date of this review, we have not received official proof of settlement for the trade-in, and the promised refund for the double debit remains outstanding.

2. Post-Sale Traffic Fines Incurred by Dealership Staff Immediately following delivery, the vehicle was still registered in our name when the salesman accrued two separate traffic fines while operating the car.

The fines were issued to us, the new owners.

It has been over a month, and the company has consistently failed to provide any concrete feedback or resolution, offering only empty promises and engaging in blame-shifting towards head office.

3. Lack of Accountability and Resolution The complete lack of proactive communication and commitment to resolution has been extremely disappointing. We have been sent from pillar to post, forcing us to dedicate considerable time and effort to chasing what should be standard administrative tasks.

We have formally escalated this via email to the DP and Admin department, and through the salesman, with no satisfactory outcome. This process strongly suggests a systemic failure in their post-sale obligations.

Conclusion: Based on this experience, I cannot recommend dealing with this company. Prospective buyers should be prepared for potential administrative nightmares, significant delays, and the possible need to enforce their rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) to resolve simple settlement and fine-related issues.

Hi Morne,

Thank you for bringing these serious concerns to our attention. I sincerely apologise for the unacceptable delays and the inconvenience you have experienced.

Please be assured that I am escalating this matter immediately to our senior management and finance team to ensure the trade in settlement proof, refund, and fine transfers are finalised as a priority. This situation does not reflect the service standards we aim to uphold, and we are committed to resolving it urgently.

I will provide you with clear feedback and confirmation as soon as each item is processed. Thank you for your patience, and again, we deeply apologise for the distress this has caused.

Regards,
Patience

Good day Patience,

I appreciate your timeous reply. Apologies for my lack in confidence, but "as soon as each item is processed" has been a month long promise already.

Can you please give me the expected date this will be concluded and when payment will be made?

Kind regards
Morne

Once again, a promised time for feedback and no response from MMU.

Commitment to their customers and promise will never be a priority to this company.

Not sure what the next steps are to this or is the hope that one gives up and you pocket the money you received as deduction from the settlement by way of my installment.

5 days after promised feedback and still nothing. I feel like it's safe to assume than someone at MMU will be celebrating Christmas at my expense with the money I am meant to use on my family.

Not even you are able to get an answer out of those in charge. It's a very simple fix, pay the money I am due and that's the end of it.

It seems like in this instance informal resolution is not working, and that the finance house, the ombudsman and anyone else with authority will have to get involved.

Pay back the installment that I am due and pay back the traffic fines you have incurred at my expense!

It is now a new year, and MMU is still missing in action, with my monthly installments and speeding fine issue. I assume at this point they are playing for time.

An escalation is the only way forward it seems. Once again, I forewarn any possible clients going forward, avoid avoid avoid!
