Do not buy your car at MMU Northcliff - Irfaan lies a lot

Good day Patience

I hope this email finds you well.

We are writing to express our extreme dissatisfaction and frustration regarding the unpaid settlement amount for our traded-in vehicle. This issue has been ongoing for three months, causing significant financial strain and negatively impacting our credit profile. When we purchased our new car from your dealership, we traded in our previous vehicle. A clear understanding was established that the outstanding finance on the traded-in car would be settled by MMU. However, to this date, the settlement has not been made. We are still making monthly payments for the traded-in vehicle, in addition to the installments for our new car.

We know that ABSA has already paid you, so what is the delay in paying Wesbank for the trade-in?

For the past three months, we have been in constant communication with Irfaan regarding this matter. He has repeatedly assured us that the settlement would be paid "today," yet these promises have consistently gone unfulfilled. Our frustration escalated to the point where we created a WhatsApp group including both Irfaan and his manager, hoping for a swift resolution. Despite this, Irfaan's only response continues to be vague assurances of immediate payment, which never materialise.

The current situation is dire. MMU is transferring the instalment for the traded-in car into our account monthly, and the debit order for that vehicle still goes through, alongside the debit order for our new car. This creates a highly misleading and detrimental narrative that we own and are financing two vehicles. Paying R5,200 and R7,300 monthly for car instalments is not only unsustainable but also a bad reflection on my wife's credit profile, as her credit profile suggests that she cannot afford to pay R12,500 on two finance vehicles.

This situation strongly suggests that we have been led into a deceptive and potentially *****ulent lending practice contract. It indicates a severe lack of customer care and a complete disregard for assisting us in managing our finances responsibly. Our financial well-being and credit standing are being severely damaged by MMU's failure to uphold its end of the agreement.

We demand an immediate resolution to this matter. The outstanding settlement for our traded-in vehicle must be paid in full without further delay. We expect a clear action plan and a firm commitment to when this will be rectified. Failure to address this issue promptly and adequately will leave us with no option but to explore further avenues to protect our financial interests and seek appropriate recourse.

You are welcome to peruse the attached WhatsApp messages from us and Irfaan as his manager is mute on the chat.

FYI, the instalment for the trade-in (Captur) is surely going to go off again this month as we received the latest statement yet again for another month.

We will await your urgent feedback.

Sincerely,

Unhappy Client
