Beware of MMR Properties (formerly Casadobe Props) - ********* Practices and Poor Management

I strongly advise against renting from MMR Properties, previously known as Casadobe Props. From the beginning, their management practices have been nothing short of deceptive and unprofessional. During my tenancy, I encountered numerous issues that potential renters should be aware of.

Firstly, their billing practices are highly questionable. Every month, the invoices we received were inconsistent and included inflated charges for made-up costs, sometimes adding up to an extra R500. When we confronted them about these discrepancies, requesting corrected invoices, their response was defensive, attributing it to "accounting errors." This happened repeatedly, suggesting a pattern rather than isolated incidents.

Furthermore, their handling of lease agreements is equally manipulative. According to our signed agreement, at the end of our lease, it should have automatically transitioned to a month-to-month basis. However, MMR Properties disregarded their own contract. When we didn’t immediately renew our lease, they resorted to coercive tactics, including threats of eviction, to force us into signing a new lease. Despite not having agreed to renew, they audaciously added renewal fees to our statements.

The ordeal continued even after deciding to move out. These renewal fees persisted on our final statements, along with charges for damages that were present when we moved in – damages that were clearly documented during our initial inspection.

The battle to have these issues resolved was long and draining, filled with endless excuses from their side. Ultimately, they did return our full deposit, but it was a gruelling two and a half months later.

In summary, my experience with MMR Properties was fraught with ********* practices and significant stress. I strongly recommend potential tenants to steer clear of this company. Their disregard for legal agreements and proper accounting practices, coupled with their aggressive and ********* behaviour, makes them an agency to avoid.
